Volunteering at the Mid-Ohio Valley Mulit-Cultural Festival offers many new experiences and great networking opportunities. Have a chance to make new friends, learn a new skill, and have some fun! Become a part of our team and directly contribute to the success of this free, three day festival that promotes diversity and culture in the Mid-Ohio Valley.
Volunteers are key to this great event! Even the Board of Directors is made up entirely of volunteers! Come join us at the festival by assisting attendees, exhibitors, and entertainers. You will walk away with a rewarding experience you will never forget.
We are always seeking volunteers and enthusiasts who would like to be involved in the festival in some way, but right now we are especially looking for help in planning the festival!

Feel free to contact us about volunteer opportunities during the Festival. Please see volunteer opportunities listed below. Festival dates are June 21st-23rd. Shifts are generally broken up in 2 hour increments and times are estimated.
Setup (multiple positions, Fri. 10am - 6pm)
Please note that setup often involves heavy lifting! Setup volunteers will assist staff with preparing for the event on the Friday prior to the start time of the Festival. Tasks include creating and placing signage (includes the use of tools), setting up registration areas, assisting in setting up vendor stations and preparing different areas for the event.
Information Booth (two at a time, Fri. 5pm - 9pm, Sat. 11am - 11pm, Sun. 12pm - 7pm)
Volunteers working in the information booth will assist with greeting and educating visitors about the organization’s mission, informing them of important locations and providing guests with schedules. Volunteers will be responsible for selling merchandise (t-shirts, tote bags), and providing security for the money collected.
Entertainment Concierge (one on Fri. 5pm - 9pm, two on Sat. 11am - 11pm, one on Sun. 12pm - 7pm)
Volunteers will great entertainment acts providing them a place to check-in, inform them about the facilities that are available and assist them with anything else they may need. Volunteers will also provide stage help.
(multiple positions, Fri. 5pm - 9pm, Sat. 11am - 11pm, Sun. 12pm - 7pm)
Vendors and artists have to eat too! Booth Sitters relieve artists and vendors who need to take a quick break. As a booth sitter, you’ll stand watch at booths while they run quick errands. Booth sitters do not make sales.
Children’s Activities (two for setup on Fri. 10am - 6pm, six to eight at a time on Sat. 11am - 5pm and Sun. 1pm - 5pm)
Volunteers will help facilitate the kid’s programming and activities as needed and should enjoy working with children. Come prepared to have fun!
International Boulevard Project (multiple positions)
We are looking for volunteers that are willing to represent a nationality. Presenters should be able to provide interactive presentations and displays about the nationality/culture they are representing. A 10x10 ft. booth is provided including tents, tables, chairs, and lighting.
Volunteer Coordinator (one on Fri. 5pm - 9pm, two on Sat. 11am - 11pm, one on Sun. 12pm - 7pm) Volunteers will work with the information booth to coordinate volunteer activities, making sure that volunteers are provided all information needed. The volunteer may also run errands and escort other volunteers to their respective areas. Due to the nature of this position and the knowledge needed, please be prepared to commit to at least 6 hours.
Cleanup (multiple positions, Sun. 6pm - ?)
Volunteers are needed to take down signs, take down tents, clean up any garbage left behind, etc.
If you would like even more involvement with the festival, you can become a MOVMCF Committee member. You will be rewarded with the opportunity to attend our monthly and bi-monthly meetings and work with our Board of Directors on festival projects. If you can’t volunteer your time, help us by spreading the word and telling others about our festival!
